This time I am writing about the cruise on January 21, 2018. The boundless luxury of the ship, and awesome ports of call

On July 10th, 2017 I wrote about the Caribbean Jewish Music Glatt Kosher Festival Cruise of 2018.

The article focused entirely on the Festival and my sheer excitement about it.

I got so carried away with the musical event, I neglected to mention the ports of call and the other magical features of the cruise. In my Jewish music driven euphoria, I have also mistakenly noted it took place on the Allure of the Seas, when in fact it is on the Oasis of the Seas. Thus, I hereby apologize for my misstatement. Yet I also wish to say my mistake was a small one indeed. Both liners are exquisitely amazing. Both are floating giants, small cities of the greatest in luxury.

The Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas and the Allure of the Seas are the largest ships in the world. According to many passengers the differences are subtle, yet the Oasis is deemed livelier, and according to some passengers even more exciting than the other two. In truth, it’s all a matter of personal taste &ndash all three have interior and exterior designs that will take your breath away, shows which to my mind are better than anything I’ve seen on Broadway, staterooms and service to please the highest demands and leave one in a state of awe.

Upon re-reading the previous blog, the oddest thing popped up. Hardly any mention of the ship, which is an experience in itself &ndash a small town of great beauty, a Starbucks down in the main floor which is named aptly &ldquoBroadway&rdquo. In the giant main hallway, the d&eacutecor hanging from the amazingly high ceilings is glittering and sparkling in the lights. The luxury of the dining rooms decks and the spa with every service imaginable are just a few of the wonderful amenities they have on board. I actually had the best hair dresser ever on my cruise who made me look the best I ever did, with soft mermaid curls. The whole staff gathered to “ooh’ and “ahh’, making me laugh in the process. Service is awesome all over the ship and the food, oh that Glatt kosher food! I wish I had it now. You don’t find anything like it anywhere but on Kosherica.

Then of course the ports of call:

  • Embarking in Orlando, Port Canaveral, FL on Sunday January 21, 2018 at 4:30pm. This gives you time if you wish to visit Disney World.
  • Monday is spent at sea, with a multitude of choices to busy oneself between the delicious meals. Don’t start me on those, I’m hungry and no one dreams up food like the super chefs on Kosherica. Glatt kosher yet better than the top Parisian or NYC restaurants according to my friends and relatives who have tried both.
  • The first port is Labadee, Haiti. Set amid spectacular terrain of densely forested mountains and water. It was discovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus and is only six miles from Cape Haitian, a city that played an important role in the Spanish/French colonial history. This is a private paradise resort now, safely leased by the Royal Scandinavian Lines in 1986 from the Haitian government. You’ll never find yourself being mobbed by people asking for money or trying to sell you things you have no desire to buy. Only peace, relaxation, snorkeling, zip-lining or snoozing on a beach chair. The reef is protected thus colorful and alive with fish and coral.
  • Second stop is Falmouth, Jamaica. There is a bay called Doctors Cave Beach and it’s said to have water with healing powers. I won’t argue with that, the beach is beautiful, clean and the water turquoise. Surrounded by soft white sand &ndash that’s all healing in my book, placebo or not. A shore excursion to Dunn’s River Falls where you climb the rocks as water trickles on you is massive fun. Guides watch over you to make sure you are safe.
  • Another grand experience is the glistening lagoon or the Glowing Lagoon. It’s spectacular to watch as you swim and watch as the water lights up with each movement of your body. The luminescence is biological and is created by microorganisms in the water and your guide will explain how it happens.. You may go horseback riding, kayaking or river tubing. Or just visit the different artist and artisan huts and go bargaining &ndash it’s expected.
  • Last stop on the Music festival tour is Cozumel, Mexico, and if you can go scuba diving this is one of the best places on earth. If not, even snorkeling will give you a ton of fun right in time before Erev Shabbat and the greatest Cantors in the world to lead the services.

This is a trip to tantalize all the senses and then some more.

I can hardly wait.
