Ingredients

Quantity

Green cabbage - finely shredded

2 heads

Tomato juice

1 gallon

Diced tomatoes

2 cups

Large onions - sliced thin

Garlic cloves - chopped

Salt

1 tbsp

Ground black pepper

½ tbsp

Brown sugar

3 tbsp

White sugar

3 tbsp

White vinegar

¼ cup

Cider vinegar

¼ cup

Chicken soup base (pareve non-MSG)

2 tbsp

Paprika

1 tbsp

Lemon zest

1 lemon

Lemon juice

½ lemon

Boiling water

2 quarts

 1. Saute garlic and onions until translucent.  Add the cabbage and saute.

2. Add all other ingredients into the pot.

3. Bring to a light boil and let simmer for 2 ½ hours.
